ScrolldownfortheEnglishversion「唤相」有召唤记忆和交换图像的双重意义。这是一个持续进行的创作。以自传模式为基準，将艺术家廖益嘉生命中重要记忆点的二十二张老照片，结合影像创作完成最终数位图像。始于艺术家周岁的照片，这也是他认识自己的第一张照片，并延伸到同学、同事、父母、妻子和孩子，以及启发他的物品，这些都是底片留下的记忆。这些老照片被艺术家嵌入石头与流动的溪流画面中：石头与溪流象征著时间流逝，底片记忆牢固的被崁在石头中，而涓流越过了底片记忆形成纹理成为最终图像。

艺术家刻意将《唤相》这本摄影书设计成他年轻时保存的传统相册，另附一个仿老相馆冲洗照片的纸袋，纸袋里装有艺术家过去拥有的老照片复制品。这些老照片复制品维持它们各自的原始尺寸，并让观者能够在摄影书中自行寻找作品里它们的踪影；部分老照片的背后有文字叙述，有部分则在摄影书里。艺术家希望观者能透过类比照片和数位照片的结合来显现自身的记忆片段，进而唤起人生故事。最后，如果有观者产生共鸣，可以利用摄影书里提供的明信片，写下自己的记忆片段跟艺术家联系，与艺术家一同加入这趟艺术之旅。

Thetitleofthisbodyofwork,「喚相」inMandarinhasthedoublemeaningof“summoningmemories”and“exchangeofimages”.Itisanon-goingproject.Utilizinganautobiographicalstyle,twenty-twoimportantlifeeventsarepresentedasfinalimagesandproduceddigitally.Eachthemeintheimagesbeginswithanaloguephotographs.Theyrangefromwhentheartistwasamonthold(thefirstimagethatinstillsself-recognition),andextendstoimportantfigures:hisclassmates,coworkers,parents,wife,andchildren;eventoincludeinspirationalobjects,allrecordedwithanaloguephotography.Thesephotographsarethenincorporatedintoanimageofmovingwaterpassingthroughstones:thestonesembedmemories,andwaterrepresentsthepassageoftime,acontinuousflowthattricklesthroughtheanaloguephotographs.

YichiaLiaodesignedthephotobooktomimicthetraditionalphotoalbumsheoncekeptandthepaperbagwhichphotostudiosgivewhenphotographswasdeveloped,isareplicaofoneheownedinthepast.Theassortedphotographsallintheiroriginalsizesisforviewerstofreelymatchthemwithhiscurrentworkswhichisfeaturedinthephotobook.Somecaptionswillappearonthebackofthephotographandothersinthebook.Theartisthopestheviewerscanpieceupthememoryfragmentsthroughbothanalogueanddigitalphotographsandthenremembertheirownstories.Lastly,ifanymemoryfragmentsresonatewiththeviewerstheycanwritedownonthepostcardprovidedandgetincontactwiththeartisttojointheartisticjourney.
